End of a chapter sale - starting 21st May

Dear friends of Alice Menter Jewellery, 

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I have had to come to the decision to bring this chapter of 'Alice Menter jewellery' to a close.…. It is the end of an era dreaming up, creating designs making and marketing my collections for all you lovely customers. It has been an absolute joy.

However, in the last few years It has become increasingly difficult to run this as a viable business. Material costs have been escalating at a rate I am unable to keep up with, as have labour costs and the general cost of living. Sadly, this is the case for many small independent businesses; it has become impossible for me to keep going.   Being the creative director, sole designer, maker & general manager of the business, I have an enormous emotional attachment to all aspects of the work, but I have had to concede that I cannot continue under the current circumstances……the blood sweat and tears have run out! 

BUT…..it is not the end of Alice Menter Jewellery, simply the end of a chapter in my life that I would like to celebrate with you all. The website will close-down for the summer. Many of the products on there will no longer be available but there will be a 40% discount off almost everything online, until materials run out. 

I will be using the summer months to create a new collection, working with precious metals and precious stones. Time to rethink and rebrand and I will be launching a very different beautiful collection at the end of September. 

I am excited to begin a new journey and incredibly proud of the business we have built over 13 years and all it has achieved.  My work has featured widely, in publications such as Elle, Grazia, Marie Claire and Harpers Bazar. I took part in London Fashion Week, as well as being the runner up for New Jewellery Designer of the year, and have sold through prestigious outlets over the years including Harvey Nichols, The V&A , Fortnum and Masons, Econe Jewellery, Wolf and Badger,
The Wearer, and Diana Porter. 

I want to thank all of you who have been part of the journey and supported the
Alice Menter brand along the way. Without your loyal custom none of this
would have been possible.  

My signature cuffs have become ubiquitous amongst many friendship groups and will always be my greatest invention. Whilst I have loved the concept of high-end fashion jewellery, I am now focussed on ‘forever’ hand crafted pieces of jewellery that people will want to keep and pass on. Designing and making is a passion and what I am here to do. I have so many exciting new ideas and will be in touch with you very soon to share them.
