We're very happy to announce Alice Menter Jewellery is now available in the V&A Museum shop in London.
We visited the museum on Friday and were amazed by what a cool place it was to spend a Friday evening. There was Jazz playing and a cocktail bar in the main entrance, so after a couple of bellinis we wondered (merrily) around this majestic building, and saw some awe inspiring exhibits. Naturally we visited the jewellery first...
The William and Judith Bollinger Gallery contains over 3,000 pieces which tell the story of jewellery from Ancient Greece to the present day.
From the gold Celtic breastplate you see on entering the exhibition to coral and diamond tiaras, Cartier and Fabergé are exhibited next to pieces by contemporary makers. The gallery is a true journey through all styles and eras of jewellery design and is an inspiration to be in.
Some of our favourite pieces included a collar dated back to 800BC, which we could easily imagine causing quite a stir today...
Just writing about it makes us want to go back again! Which is the incredible thing about this museum, its FREE and open for everyone to experience the magic and wonder of the treasures inside.
